MEPs Marcel de Graaff (FVD) and Joachim Kuhs (AfD) have put down questions to the European Commission on the alarming disappearance of children. These include both migrant children and children disappearing as a result of government interventions.

De Graaff is demanding full clarification. Citizens are failing to get the truth from the Dutch government. The latter deliberately covers up the facts and prefers paying penalty payments - for leaving Freedom of Information requests unanswered - to revealing the truth.

The European Commission has the power to force this much-needed clarity. The Rutte regime always bows to the European Commission's decrees and requests.

17 per day

It is therefore up to the Commission to answer the questions fully and adequately, if necessary by requesting this information from the member states. If the Commission fails to do so, it once again proves that the so-called European rule of law is totally non-existent, the MEP said.

A recent publication shows that 17 migrant children are disappearing daily in Europe since 2018. According to the National Ombudsman, almost every day a child disappears from an asylum seekers’ center in the Netherlands. In England, children systematically disappear from hotels hosting asylum seekers.

Still not justified

De Graaff and Kuhs are asking the Commission for lists of names of the missing migrant children. In addition, they want to know what has been done to find them. They point out that many of the Dutch children taken away from their parents in the benefits scandal have still not been found. The MEPs are asking for a list of the children's names. They are also asking how these disappearances relate to the EU's fundamental rights and values.
